Greetings!
I had two family friends -- both mothers of pre-teens -- ask your scribe to "file a report" on American Sniper (which I saw at Cinemark 14 in Denton last Friday). They wanted to know whether their boys should see it. I'll share my comments with you, and you can tear it apart!
Almost forgot! We'll have Panera Sandwiches on hand for your culinary enjoyment -- and there may be a few cookies left over from last Sunday's "sweet" event here at FPC.
We'll take a look at Jesus on the home front. It's a story that will lift your spirit. And your mind? We've got something for that as well. It's from our friends at Art of Manliness; they've put out a piece entitled "11 Exercises that Will Strengthen Your Attention".
Mix in a little music, and you've got another tremendous edition in store for you! Friends and guests are always welcome!
See You Tomorrow!

The Rise of the "Done"s...
Brothers:
I think we touched on this article Wednesday, but my addled brain is not sure. In any case, it's interesting reading -- and fuel for discussion as we proceed in the new year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dear Brothers...
THE NICODEMUS LEAGUE will enjoy the first meeting of the new year tomorrow, 7 January, at the usual time and place!
Box lunches from Panera will be on hand. Speaking of food, I'll have a quick report on a new coffee establishment on the Denton square.
Something for your spirit...Here at the beginning Epiphany/Ordinary Time, we'll examine a classic hymn that conveys, lyrically, the emphases of the season: Songs of Thankfulness and Praise
Something for your mind...Here's the question: "When, and in what circumstances, did I begin to understand that I'm part of a larger story?" (It comes from Richard Rohr's meditation for January 6 in On the Threshold of Transformation.)
Something for your body...The iHealth app: How much info is too much info (and related questions)?
Looking forward to an enriching and fun 2015, I remain...
Your Scribe,
PRDunklau
P.S. Friends always welcome!
